Story about this image:
I am intrigued by the drawings of James Niehues. His legendary sketches, drawings, and paintings of ski trail maps at hundreds ski resorts are of legendary status. Name a ski resort, and you've probably seen a Niehues trail map including, of course, Telluride. I've often wondered how he got the vantage points for his ski map paintings and drawings that have won him world praise.
I've been told this photograph almost looks like a sketch. People often ask me "what is that" "is it a photograph or a drawing?" Shot from a low and slow flying airplane on a day with no snow on the trees. This was done to amplify the white snow on the trails of the Telluride Ski Resort so the ski runs are crisply defined. In the print, you can almost see the entirety of the Town of Telluride and Mountain Village in one photograph!
If you are looking for a fine art print or photograph of the Telluride Ski Resort Ski Map that won't look like a poster, I present to you a very nice professional fine art print you can be proud to hang above your softa! This print is available in large size up to 90" wide if ordered custom. Encased in a custom frame.
Please Note: If you have seen this photo at the Telluride Airport FBO, The Peaks Hotel, or other commercial location, those are custom framed Limited Edition fine art prints - please reach out to me or visit Gold Mountain Gallery for purchasing info.

CARE AND CLEANING
Fine Art Photography can last for years and often several generations if properly cared for.
- Do not use any chemicals to clean any prints.
- Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently dust.
- For prints on metal, you may use compressed air to gently blow away dust.
- For acrylic photography fine art prints, use ONLY a clean and slightly damp microfiber cloth with water to wipe away finger prints. Acrylic can scratch - so be gentle.
