It also happens to be the highest elevation commercial airport in the US. The airport sits upon a mesa with cliffs on both ends and surrounded by mountains. There is one way in and one way out. The backdrop includes the box canyon of Telluride with Ajax Mountain, the Telluride Ski Resort, The Peaks Hotel, and Mountain Village in the background.  After many failed attempts to capture this out of an airplane I always ended up with a drab day or an unclear or blurry image. Other times a cloud sits in just the wrong spot to ruin a good photograph.
